Boeing Shanghai Begins Cooperation with Shanghai Civil Aviation College

Brief View: Educational agreement provides benefits to students, Boeing Shanghai and Chinese aviation industry



Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services Co.,Ltd. (Boeing Shanghai) and Shanghai Civil Aviation College have signed a college-enterprise cooperation agreement to cultivate aircraft maintenance talent. The agreement focuses on majors in Aviation Electrical Maintenance, Mechanical Equipment Maintenance and Aircraft Structure Design. After graduation, the students are provided the opportunity to compete for internships and employment with Boeing Shanghai.

At a signing ceremony, Shanghai Civil Aviation College Associate Dean Yang Zheng said, “This agreement is not only beneficial for the college’s development of talent training and the strengthening of our aircraft maintenance related majors, but it also will provide Boeing Shanghai with higher quality maintenance technician candidates. I appreciate that Boeing Shanghai places their trust in our college and we will provide quality educations to our students. We look forward to a long term win-win cooperation.”

Boeing Shanghai is a joint venture between Boeing, Shanghai Airport Authorities and China Eastern Airlines. Boeing Shanghai offers a broad range of services from engineering, aircraft maintenance and modification to material management, and component repair and overhaul. Boeing Shanghai supports customers located throughout the world.

Shanghai Civil Aviation College, in the south campus of Shanghai Communication Polytechnic, is focused on aviation related majors and was upgraded to the Diploma level in 2008.  Now there are about 4,000 students in the college and 12,000 graduates.  The college has four aircraft for education, as well as advanced experimental facilities and experienced faculty. Its graduates are warmly welcomed by many airport and airline companies.
