SHANGHAI, May 13, 2010 – Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services Co. Ltd (Boeing Shanghai) has signed a maintenance agreement to perform Boeing 737-800 “C” checks for Jeju Air, based in Seoul, Korea.

Jeju Air became the first Korean customer for Boeing Shanghai after the facility obtained maintenance certification from the Korea Civil Aviation Safety Authority in February. This agreement expands upon earlier maintenance support in which Boeing Shanghai provided a landing-gear exchange for the airline earlier this year.

Two Boeing 737-800s are covered under the agreement. “C” checks are comprehensive, hangar-based periodic maintenance inspections.

Jeju Air connects Jeju Island with the Korean mainland and also operates to several international destinations.

Boeing Shanghai was established in June 2006 as a joint venture of Boeing, Shanghai Airport Authorities and Shanghai Airlines. The mission of Boeing Shanghai is to provide high-quality modification, maintenance, repair and overhaul services to regional and international airlines as well as to domestic Chinese airlines.
