A 7.1-magnitude earthquake struck Yushu, Qing Hai Province at 7:49 a.m. on 14th April. To expression deep condolences, the State Council declared that the entire nation will mourn the dead on Wednesday. The national flag will fly at half-mast across the country and its embassies and consulates around the world. Public entertainment will also be suspended.
Boeing Shanghai all employees made donations to Qing Hai Yu Shu earthquake victims. The donation amount is 21,565 RMB within a few days after the announcement. Boeing Shanghai also donated 10,782.8RMB, 50 % of the employee donation amount to the Red Cross. The total donation amount is 32,347.8. The donation was sent to China Red Cross on 4th May in the name of the company and all employees.
