SHANGHAI, Dec. 20 2024 – Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services (BSAS) and Air Premia, a rapidly growing international airline based in South Korea, today announced the signing of a five-year base maintenance agreement.

Under the agreement, Boeing Shanghai will exclusively provide base maintenance services including C-checks for Air Premia’s 787 Dreamliner fleet. This long-term agreement with Air Premia marks the expansion of Boeing Shanghai’s 787 maintenance services into the Northeast Asia market and underscores the company's commitment to supporting the growth and success of its customers.

"We are excited to partner with BSAS maintenance of our Boeing 787 fleet. Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services’ reputation for excellence in aircraft maintenance, combined with their commitment to safety and quality, made them the ideal choice for us,” said Youngchoon Kim, managing director of maintenance for Air Premia.  “This partnership will help us maintain the highest standards of airworthiness and reliability for our fleet, allowing us to continue offering premium service to our passengers.  We look forward to a long and successful collaboration with BSAS."

"We are pleased to announce this long-term maintenance agreement with Air Premia, a forward-thinking and innovative airline. This partnership dovetails with the expansion of our new hanger, designed to accommodate more widebody airplanes,” said Mark Sisson, CEO of Boeing Shanghai.  “We look forward to supporting Air Premia's growth aspirations and ensuring that their Boeing 787 fleet remains in top condition, enabling them to deliver exceptional travel experiences to their customers."

The announcement follows Boeing Shanghai’s groundbreaking on new hangar facilities designed specifically to cater to the growing demand for widebody aircraft maintenance. The building, set to be completed by the end of 2025, will be the largest single-span maintenance hangar in China, with the capacity to accommodate four widebody aircraft and two single aisle aircraft simultaneously, significantly expanding Boeing Shanghai's maintenance capabilities.
