Boeing Shanghai to Provide 747-8 Line Maintenance Service for Silk Way West

SHANGHAI, Oct. 23, 2014 – Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services Co., Ltd., (Boeing Shanghai) signed an agreement in September with Baku, Azerbaijan-based Silk Way West Airlines to provide line maintenance service for the cargo carrier’s recently acquired 747-8 freighters.

Silk Way Airlines provides complete cargo services for customers serving Europe, the United Kingdom, Middle East and Far East, including South Korea, China and Hong Kong. Currently the airline operates seven Boeing freighters: two Boeing 747-8s, three 747-400s and two 767-300s, as well as Ilyushin and Antonov aircraft.

Boeing Shanghai is a joint venture between Boeing, Shanghai Airport Authorities and China Eastern Airlines. Boeing Shanghai is a full service MRO and offers a broad range of services from engineering, aircraft maintenance and modification to material management, and component repair and overhaul. Boeing Shanghai supports customers operating throughout the world.
