Boeing Shanghai Earns Confidence, More Business from Nordwind Airlines

SHANGHAI, Sep. 17 2014 – Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services Co., Ltd., (Boeing Shanghai) and Russia-based Nordwind Airlines are expanding their business cooperation by signing a new maintenance agreement that will include heavy checks, pylon modifications, full painting, landing gear replacement, avionics upgrades and cabin modifications on seven 767-300ERs that will enter service this month.

Nordwind Airlines and Boeing Shanghai’s began working together in February 2013. In addition to signing the current agreement, both parties are exploring future business opportunities to further expand their relationship. 

“The service provided by Boeing Shanghai utilizes the very latest maintenance technology, which we expect to significantly improve efficiency and reliability in our flight operation," said  Oguz Senol Yuce, Deputy General Director, Technical and Fleet Planning, Nordwind Airlines. “Our enhanced productivity and performance will help us to provide our passengers with an unmatched flight experience.”

Founded in May 2008, Nordwind Airlines is a charter airline with headquarters in Moscow. As of 2014 it serves a total of 97 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South America and Asia. Currently the airline operates 12 767-300ERs, eight 757s, four 737-800s, three 777-200ERs and nine Airbus 320/321s. Nordwind will add an additional ten Boeing 737-800s to its fleet over the coming months.

Boeing Shanghai is a joint venture between Boeing, Shanghai Airport Authorities and China Eastern Airlines. Boeing Shanghai is a full service MRO and offers a broad range of services from engineering, aircraft maintenance and modification to material management, and component repair and overhaul. Boeing Shanghai supports customers operating throughout the world.
