Boeing Shanghai Signs Maintenance Agreements with UTair Aviation

Brief View: Fleet management deals cover Boeing 767 and 737 models

SHANGHAI, May 10 2012 – Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services Co., Ltd (Boeing Shanghai) announced today that UTair Aviation and Boeing Shanghai have signed two agreements for maintenance and engineering services.

Under one agreement, Boeing Shanghai will provide engineering solutions to support UTair’s incoming fleet of up to eight 767-200ERs, helping the airline develop a maintenance program, develop new interior configurations and prepare a modification program to assure that the airplanes are in compliance with European and Russian aviation authorities’ requirements. In addition, Boeing Shanghai will provide other services to maximize safe and efficient operations as this new model type enters UTAir’s fleet.
Boeing Shanghai also has been awarded a contract for heavy maintenance of the first 767 to be introduced to UTair’s fleet in July.
Under a separate contract, Boeing Shanghai recently has completed a C-check on a Boeing 737-500 airplane for UTair.

Based in Khanty Mansiysk, Russia, UTair Aviation is an integrated air transport and aircraft services company with over 40 years of experience on the Russian air transport market. UTair operates one of the largest aircraft fleets in Russia and ranks among the top five largest Russian carriers by passenger volume. The airline provides scheduled domestic and international passenger services and helicopter services, as well as airport services and airline catering services.
Boeing Shanghai has successful history of cooperation with Russian and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) airlines. To date, Boeing Shanghai has completed heavy maintenance on eight 767-300ERs for Aeroflot, two 767-300ERs for S7 Airlines and seven 767-300ERs for Aerosvit, based in Ukraine.
