Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services Co., Ltd., (Boeing Shanghai) has successfully completes 100th Boeing 777 A-check for Aeroflot Russian Airlines (Aeroflot) at Shanghai Pudong International Airport in July. The program starts from April 2013.

“The completion of 100th B777 A-check is another major milestone forward in our long term cooperation with Aeroflot. Boeing Shanghai appreciates Aeroflot’s continuous trust in our maintenance services,” said Dermot Swan, CEO of Boeing Shanghai. “Aeroflot is one of the leading operators in Russia. Boeing Shanghai is committed to providing high quality full-scope maintenance, repair and overhaul services for our mutual success.”

Boeing Shanghai’s support to Aeroflot also includes various types of heavy maintenance and lease return checks to ensure smooth airplane transitions back to lessors with minimum cost and ground time.

Boeing Shanghai announced the signing of a heavy maintenance agreement with Nauru Airlines. From June 1st, 2015, one of Nauru Airlines B737-300 aircraft will be inducted for C-check, GPSSU modification and landing gear change in Boeing Shanghai’s facilities at Shanghai Pudong International Airport.

This project is another example that Boeing Shanghai is committed to providing our global customers with high value-added services for mutual beneficial.

Nauru Airlines is the flag carrier airline of the Republic of Nauru. It provides scheduled international services to other Pacific islands and Australia. Currently the airline operates four 737-300s and one 737-300 Freighter.

Boeing Shanghai announced the signing of a heavy maintenance agreement with Nauru Airlines. MRO Asia was held in Singapore on November 4-6.  MRO Asia is one of the largest commercial aviation conference & exhibition events held in the Asia-Pacific region bringing together operators, MROs vendors and lessors. Over 100 exhibitors and 3,400 participants attended the event.

Our Boeing Shanghai Sales team joined Boeing Commercial Airplane Services (CAS) Sales and Marketing team from Seattle to advance our collective services and capabilities. The teams met with existing and potential customers to expand relationships and business opportunities. This event typifies our collaboration with Boeing CAS Sales & Marketing to showcase our MRO services.

On August 8, 2014, Boeing Shanghai volunteers visited Shanghai Gaoqiao-Donglu Primary School and introduced basic aircraft and MRO knowledge to the students, which was the fourth time that Boeing Shanghai participated in Boeing Global Service Day. The children were excited to know how an aircraft is manufactured and draw their dreamed aircraft. At last Boeing Shanghai CFO Tony Xu and HR Director Rebecca Zhou presented the awards to the drawing competition winners and the gifts to all the students.

Boeing Shanghai was honored to expand the students’ experience with Boeing Global Service Day spirit.

In order to eliminate potential risks, prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for our employees and customers, Boeing Shanghai has launched Safety Month in June. A successful safety program depends on spotting hazards early, evaluating their risk and removing or controlling them to eliminate unsafe situations or events. 

During June, Boeing Shanghai established a series of activities including promotion sessions, training, emergency rescue rehearsal, contests, articles, a safety slogan contest, as well as 5S activities. Through these activities we hope to raise everyone’s safety awareness and establish a safe and comfortable workplace.

Safety in Mind, Life in Hand.

Air Cargo China 2014 took place this year at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The event was held June 17-19 and was widely attended. This is a major event for the air freight, transport and logistics sectors and provided an excellent venue for business-to-business discussions. Over 70 exhibitors from 26 countries participated this year and over 15,300 visitors from 73 countries attended.



Boeing Shanghai’s Sales & Marketing team joined the Marketing team from The Boeing Company and together provided details regarding our products, services and capabilities. The teams met with potential customers to understand their requirements, develop a relationship and to advance business. This venue provided a good opportunity to increase our joint presence in the aviation, transport and logistics sectors.

30th July 2013, Boeing Shanghai hosted 43 children from low-income and single parent families in Pudong Hangtou community.  It was synchronized with Boeing volunteer activities throughout the world. 



With Boeing global service day spirit, Boeing Shanghai was honored to provide these children with chance to have fun and expand their experience.  Boeing Shanghai volunteers showed children around Boeing Shanghai’s state-of-the-art hangars and introduces the basic knowledge of aircraft and passenger-to-freighter conversions.  Moreover, Boeing Shanghai provided summer gifts to these children.



The activity made the children who had never closely seen aircraft know more concepts about it and encouraged them be interested in Aviation and MRO industry.  At the end, all the children drew future style airplane in their mind.



It is Boeing Shanghai’s social responsibility and obligation to serve for the society and the community.

Boeing Shanghai Components shop received the 1st aircraft engine Halon Fire Extinguisher repair order from a major customer in April.  It is a significant milestone to obtain this acknowledgment and Repair Order (RO) from a customer after almost one year of intense effort to promote and grow our component business.  

More component capabilities are under development to diversify Boeing Shanghai’s business segments and help make Boeing Shanghai to be the preferred full service MRO.

Boeing Shanghai is performing the 2nd 737-300 Passenger-to-Freighter (PTF) conversion for Kenya Airways at its state-of-the-art hangars after the successful completion of the 1st PTF conversion in March.

This modification is under a PTF conversion contract signed with Kenya Airways and Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) in October 2012.  Boeing Shanghai will work closely with AEI on this conversion under AEI’s Supplemental Type Certificate (STC).  The modification is targeted for completion in June.

This project is another example that Boeing Shanghai is committed to providing our global customers with high value-added services to help them save cost and extend the lifespan of the aircraft.
