In order to eliminate potential risks, prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for our employees and customers, Boeing Shanghai has launched Safety Month in June. A successful safety program depends on spotting hazards early, evaluating their risk and removing or controlling them to eliminate unsafe situations or events.

During June, Boeing Shanghai established a series of activities including promotion sessions, training, emergency rescue rehearsal, contests, articles, a safety slogan contest, as well as 5S activities. Through these activities we hope to raise everyone’s safety awareness and establish a safe and comfortable workplace.

Safety in Mind, Life in Hand.

Air Cargo China 2014 took place this year at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The event was held June 17-19 and was widely attended. This is a major event for the air freight, transport and logistics sectors and provided an excellent venue for business-to-business discussions. Over 70 exhibitors from 26 countries participated this year and over 15,300 visitors from 73 countries attended.

Boeing Shanghai’s Sales & Marketing team joined the Marketing team from The Boeing Company and together provided details regarding our products, services and capabilities. The teams met with potential customers to understand their requirements, develop a relationship and to advance business. This venue provided a good opportunity to increase our joint presence in the aviation, transport and logistics sectors.

30th July 2013, Boeing Shanghai hosted 43 children from low-income and single parent families in Pudong Hangtou community.  It was synchronized with Boeing volunteer activities throughout the world.

With Boeing global service day spirit, Boeing Shanghai was honored to provide these children with chance to have fun and expand their experience.  Boeing Shanghai volunteers showed children around Boeing Shanghai’s state-of-the-art hangars and introduces the basic knowledge of aircraft and passenger-to-freighter conversions.  Moreover, Boeing Shanghai provided summer gifts to these children.

The activity made the children who had never closely seen aircraft know more concepts about it and encouraged them be interested in Aviation and MRO industry.  At the end, all the children drew future style airplane in their mind.

It is Boeing Shanghai’s social responsibility and obligation to serve for the society and the community.

Boeing Shanghai Components shop received the 1st aircraft engine Halon Fire Extinguisher repair order from a major customer in April.  It is a significant milestone to obtain this acknowledgment and Repair Order (RO) from a customer after almost one year of intense effort to promote and grow our component business.

More component capabilities are under development to diversify Boeing Shanghai’s business segments and help make Boeing Shanghai to be the preferred full service MRO.

Boeing Shanghai is performing the 2nd 737-300 Passenger-to-Freighter (PTF) conversion for Kenya Airways at its state-of-the-art hangars after the successful completion of the 1st PTF conversion in March.

This modification is under a PTF conversion contract signed with Kenya Airways and Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. This project is another example that Boeing Shanghai is committed to providing our global customers with high value-added services to help them save cost and extend the lifespan of the aircraft.
