On 7th Feb 2012, a Boeing 777-300ER of Qatar Airways arrived at PVG of Shanghai for static display at Boeing Shanghai.

It was the first time that Boeing Shanghai hosted 777-300ER.  The purpose of the show is to help the guests be more familiar with 777-300ER.  All the guests were excited to tour this beautiful airplane with luxurious interiors sitting at Boeing Shanghai’s state-of-the-art hangar.

Boeing Shanghai appreciates the full support from Qatar Airways and is delighted to work with Boeing to make this event so successful.

What a pleasure to host and meet Dr. Sergey Kravchenko, President of Boeing Russia, and the management team from Boeing Russia at the end of January 2012.

The session was a good opportunity for both Boeing Russia and Boeing Shanghai to discuss how to cooperate more closely in various aspects to better serve our customers.  After the meeting, Bernard Hensey, CEO of Boeing Shanghai, showed Boeing Russia team around Boeing Shanghai’s hanger, facility and training center.  They were highly impressed by Boeing Shanghai’s employees, facility and rapid development.

Boeing Shanghai is very thankful to Boeing Russia team’s visit in the spirit of “One Boeing” and hopes to team with Boeing Russia to achieve continuous business growth for both parties.

A key initiative was launched in December to promote Boeing Shanghai company culture.  Due to Boeing Shanghai rapid growth and diverse workforce the purpose of this initiative is to ensure Boeing Shanghai’s vision and internal communication procedures are fully understood and appreciated.

In the following 2 months, the management team will have face-to-face discussions with all the staff to foster company culture and open communication.

Having a clear vision and a communication plan between management and staff is necessary to ensure all employees are in sync with company policies and procedures.  This initiative is also intended to provide all employees multiple channels to express their opinions or suggestions in a collaborated way.

MRO Asia was held in Beijing this year on 8-10 November.  Mr. Stuart Yang, Senior Sales Manager of Boeing Shanghai, delivered a speech on “Opportunities and Challenges of MRO in Asia Pacific” at the conference on Thursday 10th November.  This is our opportunity to showcase Boeing Shanghai’s strength and strategies to overcome these challenges, and the keys to staying competitive, informed and compliant in a global marketplace.

MRO Asia is the most airline-centric conference & exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region.  It is established as the place where airlines come to exchange their maintenance concerns and needs, and find effective solutions for both long and short term issues.  MRO Asia also facilitates this community and brings them together to develop a higher industry vision and encourage innovative cooperation among the MROs and airlines alike.

High quality is always a key element of Boeing Shanghai’s culture.  In order to further improve maintenance quality, an Employee Quality Council was established and a kick-off meeting was held at the end of October 2011.

We encourage every staff member to put forward any issues related to quality they found during the daily maintenance work and provide their suggestions.  The committee members will collect these issues, talk about them in the regular meetings, and develop solutions to resolve these issues.  The action plan will be put into practice after being approved by the management team.

It is Boeing Shanghai’s commitment to raise the bar on quality and serve our customers with superior service, thereby contribute to our customers’ and Boeing Shanghai future success.
